As a Suicide Prevention Coach with the Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (Children's Hospital for Eastern Ontario), Dr. Deb along with community partners in the Simcoe Muskoka District, including John Rice (Ojibway) and Dr. Ed Connors (Mohawk) co-founded the Feather Carriers: Leadership for Life Promotion (2015) an aspiring national wise practice for youth mental health and wellness, engaging traditional cultural teachings as life promotion/premature death (suicide) prevention. Although Dr. Deb is no longer active with Feather Carriers (2015-2019), she remains one of its original founders.
